I can't find my license number, what should I do?

If you do not have your license and do not know your license number to begin your order on myNCDMV, try one of the following to complete an order:

• If you have previously completed an order for this driver's license with your myNCDMV profile, you can access your license number on the receipt (see Where can I find my receipt?).

• If you have access to the registration card for a vehicle that is registered to you, your driver's license number will be printed in the bottom left corner of the document. It will be printed as the "Customer ID Number".

If you are not able to find your license number with the above options, you will need to order your license in person at a local DMV License Office. You can find the nearest office here: NC DMV Locations.

Note: If you have your license number but are unsuccessful in searching for your license, you may need to put the zeroes in front of the rest of your number. All NC driver's licenses are 12-digits long. If your license number has fewer than 12-digits, you may need to add zeroes in front of your license number to reach 12-digits.
