How can I change the address on my driver’s license in NC?

Create an Account on myNCDMV

To get started, go to the myNCDMV website or download the mobile app in your smartphone app store, then click on the blue Continue to myNCDMV Services button to get started.

Click Sign Up to create an account with your email address. Otherwise, you can use your existing Apple, Google, or Facebook account to sign in. 

If desired, you can opt to Continue as Guest. However, as your profile will securely store your information, an account will make future transactions even easier.

Change Address on Driver’s License in North Carolina 

Once you log in, click Order a Duplicate on the dashboard to get started if your license isn’t currently up for renewal. 

To locate your record, enter your birth date and license number or last name. Once the system locates your record, you will have the opportunity to change both your residential and mailing addresses. 

For many residents, these addresses are the same. However, if you want your duplicate license mailed to a different North Carolina address than where you reside, click No, use a different address when prompted. 

Before adding the item to your cart, you will be asked to review your information and confirm its accuracy. 

Completing Your Payment on myNCDMV
