Quickly complete your North Carolina vehicle registration renewal on myNCDMV. To ensure accurate results, confirm your title number and locate your vehicle registration using the FAQs below:

 

What do I need to get started?
  • License plate number (exactly as it appears on your plate)
  • Last five characters of your current title number
How do I find my current title number?
  1. Log in to myDMV with your Driver License/ID, last 4 of SSN and date of birth
  2. Select Vehicles → choose your vehicle
  3. Click Title & Lien, then grab the last five characters

After I confirm my title number, how do I enter my information and pay?

What if I get a “Plate & verification number do not match” message?

This message means your title number has changed since the renewal notice was mailed.

  1. Retrieve your new title number (see "How do I find my current title number?" above)
  2. Enter the last five characters 
What if I get a “No records found” message?

This message usually appears when a typo or formatting issue has occurred:

  • Make sure your plate is uppercase and has no dashes
  • Ensure your title number is alpha numeric only (no spacing, no punctuation)
  • Input only the last five characters of your title number
