Having trouble paying your outstanding driver fees? We’re here to help. Review the frequently asked questions below to get back on track.
Why am I seeing a message that my driver license record could not be found?
This message usually appears when the information entered does not exactly match your driver license record due to a typo or formatting difference.
To locate your record, enter your information exactly as it appears on your North Carolina driver license:
- Enter your Driver License Number exactly as shown on your license
- Enter your Date of Birth in MM / DD / YYYY format
- Enter the last four digits of your Social Security Number
If you are still unable to find your record, refresh your session and make sure your device, browser, or mobile app is up to date. Then try again or use a different device.
I entered my information correctly, but my driver license record still cannot be found. What should I do next?
If you have entered your information exactly as it appears on your driver license and your record still does not appear, your fee may not yet be available in myNCDMV.
- If your fee was recently issued, wait until the next business day and search again
- If you have searched on multiple business days and your record still does not appear, the fee may not be eligible for online payment
Refer to the payment instructions listed on your official notice for additional payment options.
I was ready to pay, but received a message that the bill is no longer payable. What can I do next?
If you receive a message indicating the bill is no longer payable, the status of the fee may have changed while you were in the payment process.
Do the following:
- Remove the item from your cart
- Log out of your myNCDMV account
- Log back in and add the fee to your cart again
If the message continues to appear, confirm the status of the fee using the contact information on your official notice.
